Tsunoshima reborn!

First thing I did when I got back home, make a fire :)
(日本語のエントリーはこちら

This is a furnace that I made from a rice can which used to hold over 100kg of rice.
The flat thing right next to the furnace is a lid which I made by the same piece of the can.

Last time when I made an English entry, I shared why I started this blog.
This time, I went back home since Sept. 29th to Oct. 6th to.... take back our land!

Yes, I told my mom that she herself had to start making a path if she wanted to make a way to go from where we stood, and I was really surprised she actually made one.
The pic below is around the fields my family has and has been abandoned for so long, and the red and purple lines are the way which used to serve passengers to go their fields once, and it's the way she actually broke through over 2 months.
(She has her own blogger site: http://tsunoshimareborn.blogspot.jp/: it's all in Japanese, but you can see how she is trying to open up the fields.)

The pic below is around the entrance of the way, and it's where I took her pictures walking along all the way up to the hill.

And I took her pictures from the above point, here we go!
She walks up to the other way.

Now she's in the middle of the way (in a red circle).

She's walking up the hill.

She's on the hill waving to me.

At this point, she's around one fourth of the way to the end.

I helped her cutting grasses on our fields this time, and I was again surprised at how hard it was. Grasses were over my height and sometimes 3 inches tree roots stops the machine, and thorns prevented us from going forward.
You can see me cutting grasses in the pic below, and you can also see they are about my height.

Around the end of the path, she said there were so many trees that she had to cut down by hand saw, and for the three times I got surprised how big they were. The pic below is me cutting the trees with a chain saw.

For the two months, she kept cutting all those trees and grasses, and she broke through the path. Now we started opening our fields. We are finally at the starting point to do something creative.

She said sometimes she felt hearing my grand father's voice when she was working on opening the fields. This one picture I took, I'm not sure of whether it is just a light's reflection, but in Japan, some spiritual forks say purple light can be taken when high class spirits appear, so I say this is my grand father from heaven. Hi granpa! (*´▽`*)

At Tsunoshima, we are trying to restore the once abandoned fields.

iQos Conspiracy?! ( ゚Д゚)

日本語はこちら(For Japanese users: Japanese text here)

I recently happened to own two tobacco devices: iQos by Phillip Morris and PloomTech by JT (Japan Tobocco something).

I don't have so many power plugs in my house, so I tried to charge the battery via PC without turning it on.

My motherboard has a setting below for that:
UEFI > Advanced > Deep Sleep

Now I confirmed that PloomTech and Mobile phone could be charged, but iQos???

I noticed the first time when I plugged iQos to my PC, it sounded Plug and Play device was detected, so I was wondering but....

I also noticed that device manager on my PC was showing some device increased on it, so I would try testing what it is later on.
And, what I wondered as well is that the micro USB cable boxed with iQos can actually data sync when I connect my phone with it, but it shouldn't be necessary if the thing is only charging the battery.

I really appreciate a wonderful product they produce, but I want to say just one thing to Phillip Morrice-san.

What are you trying to do to my PC without a notice on the manual??? ( ゚Д゚)

I will try to investigate as far as I could get. :)

Why I started my blog: for my friend and someone who may be interested in what we are trying.

I originally started this blog to prepare for my mother's blog:
http://tsunoshimareborn.blogspot.jp/
(Sorry, but it's all in Japanese.)

We have been uploading cooking videos since my father passed away over an year ago.
The latest video, which we took when I went back home, is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTBCyiaeA6Y

This project was mainly started off just because she would be living all by herself and we thought we needed to have more time together, but just by calling up each other we would have had less and less time without we have topics we would be focusing on together.

Since then, we kept uploading videos once a week for about an year, and this summer, I decided to go back home for 10 days to gather sea urchin like I used to do when I was little. My ancestor had been fishermen probably for more than 150 years, and the video above is how to preserve Uni (or urchin) which I gathered.

While I went to dive in the ocean and gather urchin, abalone and turban shells, I found our barn was almost invaded by bamboo trees breaking through the ceilings. A part of the barn was surrounded by small rooms which my grand father himself constructed, and that sealed the path around the barn, and in turn, let the bamboo trees to grow whichever way they wanted.

The small rooms and trees together shaded the whole barn and I thought this may have been shading our home history, so I decided to break them down to get the paths around the barn.

After three days of fighting back to bamboo trees and rotten air accumulated over years, we got back our barn all free from invader bamboos and took back the fresh air running through the whole house history, or at least I thought so.

I don't quite remember when she started to talk about this, but she kept talking how other people in my hometown do not do anything to stop people from going out from the town and just getting old altogether, and she was worried our fields were already abandoned for so long (below is a picture that our fields lay).

The picture is taken from the red circle in the following map toward the red line:

After taking down the invaded rooms, I said to her that nobody would want to go ahead and break through the rough paths, and that if she really wanted to make that come true, she herself had to start breaking through the paths.

I remember my grand father used to keep cows in the barn, so I thought if she wanted to take back the path to our field in the abandoned area, it may be a good idea to keep goats to maintain the paths after cutting down trees and long grasses.

So I said that to her, and, she started breaking through the paths.

Her blog in the beginning is mostly about her cutting down trees and grasses, just to bring a economic renewal, or probably a renewal of how well we live as human beings in our small hometown.

Recently she says she has a dream, to take back the land where fireflies could light up our paths, like once it used to be. And, the following pictures are the paths she made so far toward her dream.

She is now 67 years old. And, she is still fighting back to the abandoned area to make her dream come true.

And this is why I started my blog to help her a little toward her dream.

AsRock Freeze issue: FM2A88X Extreme4+

Since I detected some access from countries other than Japan, I translated assuming they might be after this issue.
After the little explanation for Japanese users, I would introduce the issue I faced and resolved.

*********************<Japanese explanation>*********************
本稿は国外からのユーザアクセスが検知されたため、日本語の読めないユーザさん用に作成したものです。
日本語のページはこちらになります。
**************************************************************

This is an issue I resolved recently.

<Issue>
Sudden PC freeze
* If the issue happens while the PC is making sounds, noise like "vvvvvvv..." keeps coming out.
* The PC does not respond to any input from its mouse or keyboard.
* After force-shutdown, Kernel power 41 error would be shown on Event viewer.

I would omit what I did for resolving the issue other than this blog suggests, since there are so many PC freeze issues and solutions.

<Result>
I found the configurations below, and after I changed them to "Manual", I haven't detected the same issue.
* CPU Overclock mode
* DRAM frequency (I matched this to the memory specification: if your memory's spec would be "DDR-3 1600MHz, then DDR3-1600)

<My journal follows>
My mom's PC is the one I manufactured. The specifications are the following:
*******************************
CPU (AMD A8-7600 BOX)
ASRock FM2A88X Etreme4+
CFD W3U1600HQ-4G (4G×2)
Intel 530 Series SSDMCEAW120A401
KRPW-L5-600W/80+
Toshiba MD03ACA200
Windows 8.1 Pro DSP 64bit
*******************************

After my father passed away the last spring, my mom and I decided to upload "how to cook" videos to keep in touch, and this is mainly why I manufactured her PC. After a while since she started to use the PC, we faced the problem I described in <Issue>. (The recent video we made is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3R5QeKIQcs this video has English CC.)

My PC uses the same mother board although the CPU is different, and I detected the same issue. I also knew CPU overclock mode somehow relates to this issue and stopped it long before, but the same issue started happening frequently these days. And, I knew there was a high possibility that UEFI (BIOS) update would fix the problem.

However, my mom lives in an island and uses Tethering with her mobile phone, so I decided not to deploy the update because it would be such a mess once other incidents happened related to the update until I actually went back home.

So, I finally made getting back home and found that this mother board had an option to overclock the memory frequencies in addition to CPU overclock.

So here we go. The UEFI configurations are as follows.

<UEFI configurations>
* Open "Overclock mode" under "OC Tweaker" (This configuration is for automatically overclocking your CPU.)
* Change it to "Manual".

*Open "DRAM frequency under the same menu (This configuration is for automatically overclocking your memory access frequencies).

* Change it to whatever your memory frequency is.

I think I could actually overclock some without any issue. I thought the issue happened when the memory access suddenly increased like changing time frame suddenly when you are editing and playing at the same time, so I assumed making the access rate static would fix the problem.

I personally think I can't detect physical differences even if I overclock in the moderate range.

So, if you are using the same mother board or similar ones by the same vendor, I would suppose UEFI (BIOS) update fix the problem. I set the same configurations in "Auto" in my own PC but never face the same issue.

Anyways, if you are about to either change the configurations above or update your UEFI, please do it at your own risk.

In the end, if you are interested in other blogs in my page, please do not hesitate on asking me to translate.

I hope this might be of any help for someone.
Thanks :)
